Position Overview

 

We are looking for an Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst to join our global Investment team. We value individuals that can contribute to our growth-oriented culture and deepen our domain expertise within a number of vertical markets. As a member of our Investment team, you will contribute to the identification of new acquisition targets and strengthen our relationship with existing targets in the pipeline.

You will build strategies for engagement with companies in our industry and develop creative methods for outreach. This critical function impacts the entire M&A cycle and helps support our growth through acquisition

What you’ll do:

 
  • Develop strategies for deal sourcing, outreaching potential, and guaranteeing a long-term relationship with these entrepreneurs
  • Create business cases for acquisition targets that fit Grovn’s investment thesis, using financial models and other scenario analyses.
  • Conduct industry market research, build and maintain an in-depth market mapping of vertical market software companies within the target vertical markets
  • Support building a business development engine that fills a pipeline of qualified acquisition targets
  • Represent Grovn by engaging in dialogue with software company owners/executives, financial advisors, investment bankers, and private equity firms while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, and, professionalism
  • Identify, manage, and participate in industry events with the intent to build C-level relationships
  • Obtain, prepare, and analyse financial and operational data from business owners, brokers, banks and other representatives.

Requirements

 
  • Strong academic performance and a Business/Finance/Economics/ Engineering degree
  • 0-2 years experience in one of the select areas: M&A, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Sales at a vertical market software
  • Experience working in a Fintech or exposure to an high growth Start-up is an asset
  • Strong business acumen is required to understand underlying business drivers and comfort with technical tools and systems
  • Experience in leading and managing a business development team
  • Excellent Excel skills and strong PowerPoint skills with strong CRM experience.
  • Interested in conducting thoughtful analysis and concise presentations that will be delivered to senior executives, both internally and to target companies
  • High-quality decision-making, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to grasp new concepts quickly while dealing with an ever changing business setting
  • Advanced verbal and written English communication skills with the confidence and polish to speak with business owners, senior executives, and external professional firms
  • Strong understanding of technology and the software industry is an asset
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task between various ongoing responsibilities
  • Additional European languages (French, Italian, German, Russian, Ukrainian) is considered an asset
